I'm not sure that I can take much more of this Global Warming that Al Goricle keeps preaching to us about. If we get any more of it where I live I will have to buy crampons and an ice pick just to get from my house to my vehicles (due to an inadvertantly and unintended show of support to the enviromental crusades I do not have a garage to park them in). Today's high temperature was a downright steamy 20 degree's Fahrenheit! Relief is in sight though as the temperatures are supposed to cool off for us tomorrow with a high temperature of 6 degree's Fahrenheit and the low temperature of -4 degree's Fahrenheit. Oh yeah, I almost forgot the 8" of rain in solid form that I had to plow off of my 1/4 mile driveway this morning.
They say that Global Warming is the leading cause of mass extinctions. The way the weather has been lately I believe that Sheep are on the top of the extinction list. I personally have to wear several layers of wool clothing to regulate my body temperature and I will probably need many more in the coming days if I decide to go outside and "commune with nature". Shearing those sheep must be the leading cause of their demise, what with all the hot weather we are having lately.
Some of the leading advocates of Global Warming dismiss lower than normal temperatures as "local anomalies" and "shifting weather patterns". I guess they define "local" as encompassing the entire northern and western hemisphere. I guess that IS local when you consider the entire earth. Headlines (copied and pasted from the actual article) like the following make me believe them too:
As you can see, it is brutally hot all across our country this year! If I'm not mistaken the only headline I am missing was one from the Midwest. I think the reason I missed it is because it is buried beneath a couple feet of Global Warming somewhere near Omaha or Souix Falls.
So, in the interest of saving a few sheep and halting the rising temperatures please go out and purchase one of those spiffy new electric or hydrogen fuel cell cars that you see crowding all the dealership lots. Hybrid cars still burn that pesky carbon based fuel so if you use one you may just be the one person responsible for causing me to freeze to death from Global Warming.
To quote the great Tompall Glaser's song; "Put another log on the fire....."
Oh and don't forget, SAVE A SHEEP!
