The Quiet Patriots

Sometimes with all the bad things happening in our country a person gets discouraged with the direction our country is heading.  You begin to wonder if anyone around you really cares about the important things that make our country the great place we live in.  So many people have become apathetic or self absorbed.  Then, out of the blue, a small conversation can brighten up your outlook and make you believe there is still hope for us all.

The other day at work we were having some issues with one of our computers.  We called our IT department and "Jeff" came up to fix the problem.  As usual, we laugh and joke, but eventually our conversation hits on politics or current events.  I don't recall exactly how the topic came up but I mentioned that my Brother-in-law had recently been sent to Iraq with the 1st Div. (the Big Red One) and was now stationed at an FOB (Forward Operating Base) near Bahgdad.

Jeff said to me:  "Please extend my personal thank you and prayers to your Brother–in–law and his comrades".
Jeff then asked me:  "Does your Brother-in-law have the 'helmet upgrade kit' ?"

Now, I was a zoomie and that was way back in the late 70's.  Back then they were still issuing us WWII steel pots and Vietnam era flak jackets.  I was not aware of the helmet upgrade kits he was referring to.  It turns out he was referring to a kit made by Oregon Aero,  which improves comfort and more importantly,  ballistic protection for the wearer.  I asked Jeff where he had heard of this upgrade kit?

Jeff said:  "I saw it on Glen Beck's website"

I told Jeff I would do some research and find out if my Brother-in-law had the upgrade kit or not.

Jeff said:  "If he doesn't have the kit you let me know.  I will take up a collection and we will get him one."

These kits are not cheap at $250.00 each.

I gotta tell you, my eyes misted a bit and I got a big old lump in my throat right then and there.  This man does not know my Brother-in-law from Adam and he is making a huge offer purely out of his sense of patriotism.  My faith in my fellow citizens rose that instant by 200 percent.  Lord God, Americans are the best people on this planet.  Such unselfish sacrifice is so rarely seen or talked about in our country today that I felt I needed to share it with you all.

I have emailed my Brother-in-law asking him if he has the upgrade but have not recieved a reply from him yet.  He said in an earlier email that they only have 5 computers available for sending and recieving emails which are shared by 1300 GI's.  He has a very limited and short time window to use one.  When I get an answer from him I will be ordering him one of these kits if he does not already have one.

I am still researching these kits.  From what I have gathered, the DoD opted for a lesser product for the issue helmets due to the cost of the Oregon Aero kit.  That does not surprise me in the least.

If any of you are looking for a worthy cause that supports our troops you might want to check out Operation Helmet.  These incredible patriots take donations to buy the upgrade kits for those troops who cannot afford to buy them.  Of all the causes I know of this one may hold the potential for YOU to actually have a part in saving some GI's life.

God Bless our Troops and our quiet Patriots here at home!

Their devisive agenda

I work in a control center for a small Electric Utility.  We keep a TV tuned to a news channel for emergency broadcasting information and up–to–date weather information.  We normally keep the TV turned on but with the sound muted so it does not interfere with the telephone and radio communications of our operation.  Today I happened to notice a commercial that piqued my interest so I turned on the volume.  The commercial is about clean coal technology, or at least you are lead to believe it is.  As the commercial unfolds you see that it is a spoof on the LACK of a viable clean coal technology at this time.  You can go to This Is Reality.org  to view the commercial.

What really burns me up (pun intended) about this commercial is the fact that the nimrods who created it have NO alternative technology to offer in its place!  Instead of focusing on finding a way to make our most abundant sources of energy more environmentally viable they only mock them.  They use the same tired tactics with Nuclear, Wind and Hydro power.  All are abundant sources of potentially clean and cheap energy but their schizo schemes will not even allow that possibility.  No, their agenda is aimed at reducing our country to an energy poor nation looking for handouts.  They offer no alternative solutions that are any more viable than any of the above mentioned technologies.

I should not let these brainless morons upset me, they will never achieve the utopian environmental world they desire simply because they live, breath and reproduce.  Maybe Euthanasia would be a good thing, as long as it is only the environmental whacko's who would have to participate in the program.  That way they could reduce humanities carbon footprint via their own demise!  Oh yeah, I forgot, it is not for them to sacrifice, it is the rest of us that are required to give up our all.

Just one of the many examples of why I named my blog The Baby with the Bathwater. The Tranzi–Lib–EnviroNuts would definitely throw out the baby with the bathwater along with the whole washtub.

The Baby with the Bathwater - Intro

I have created this blog at the urging of a couple blogger friends, Darvin Dowdy and The Crawfish. Bear with me as I learn how to create and manage a blog. If this experiment goes awry, you can blame those two fine fellows!

My blog title reflects, in a somewhat obscure manner, my view on the direction our great nation is heading. I feel our nation and our society has been and continues to drift farther away from the principles our Founding Fathers intended when it was created.

I believe the academic elite, nationally and globally, holds an unchallenged monopoly with minor exceptions on indoctrinating our youth with their brand of Tranzi or Transnational Progressivism and Liberal feel-good rubbish with an ultimate aim at Global Governance. They are cutting the heart and soul out of our nation as precisely as any Thoracic Surgeon could. I for one will not join their cause or further it in any way. I will do everything in my power to expose them for what they are, thief's in the night. For more information on the Tranzi movement go to Darvin Dowdy's blog and check out his recent post.

While I do not normally advocate creating new laws, we have entirely too many un-enforced laws on the books now, or meddling with our wonderfully crafted Constitution I do think it may be time to add another amendment to it. Our Founding Fathers would never have dreamed that this amendment would be necessary when they crafted the original document; in their time it was unthinkable that you would not be responsible for your own actions. What I would propose is an amendment addressing the Responsibilities of a Citizen in our country. For too long we have heard the liberals wailing about Rights with no mention of what the responsibility of acquiring those rights entails. I feel that some rights are God given from birth while others must be earned. To group all rights as God given is erroneous. I will try to spell out my thoughts on this in the future. Feel free to comment on this idea.

There ya go DD and Craw, my first pithy blog!
